The Minnesota Rural Electric Association (MREA) serves two different types of members. Our primary members are electric distribution cooperatives and electric generation and transmission cooperatives that serve Minnesota consumers. Most electric cooperatives serve residents and commercial/industrial consumers in rural or outer-ring suburbs. Consumers who are not served by electric cooperatives are probably served by a municipal (local government owned) utility or an investor-owned utlity (IOU). Minnesota electric cooperative statistics.
The second MREA membership type is Associate Member. Associate Members are businesses of all sizes that wish to market and advertise their products and services to our members.
